My Girl

It's officially cold here and so we broke out Sophia's tights, jacket and hat. Adorable, right? She loves those boots. She pretends she's Boots from Dora the Explorer. She runs around looking for stuff and tells Swiper, "Swifer, no swifing!" (It's supposed to be, "Swiper, no swiping!")

Cute or What?

I love the "Hanging Out" pics! Ira isn't used to sharing his space - how funny!

But in about 10 years, Sophia is gonna get you for the "Dance"!!

Precious babies, Joe. Never let your ministry get in the way of loving them to the max. Easy to say now that that will never happen, but as Ira improves, people with "needs" will cloud your judgement. Remember that answering machines and voice mail were created by God so that preachers can have uninterrupted meals with their family. I have this on good authority. And make a "Family Night", one night a week devoted to your wife and children, broken only by life/death situations (your opinion of life/death). Trust me when I say that your children will love you for keeping them a priority over church work. Not over God, but over church. You know the difference.

Wow. Unsolicited advice. Sounds like a lecture. Didn't mean to. I am realizing that I have invested a huge hunk of my heart in your family, praying for you, weeping for/with you, celebrating with you. I want to protect your family with my mother hen wings, but I don't think they are big enough to reach you from Missouri. Ministry is a wonderful and beautiful thing. But it can eat you alive. Guard your family well.

Still praying for your family...
