I asked that you pray for Sophia. She's doing fine. She did great for the first couple of days and then hit a wall on Sunday, kinda like the rest of us on Sunday. She cried hard when she left us on Sunday night. It's good to be home with her for a couple of hours right now. She loves seeing Baby Ira and the nurses and doctors love it when she comes in to see Ira. I'm thankful that we have Sophia in all of this as she brightens up our day.

As you search for meaning and comfort in this time, remember Job's words in Job 23:8-12. God may seem lost to you, but you are not lost to God. Our prayers of comfort and strength and healing are with you.

It seems we sometimes chase our tail looking for answers in times like these. In my recent experience I am learning we gain insight and not always answers. I believe to the very core of my being that God is glorified and miracles are happening in the most gut-wrenching times. Lean on Him. My daughter received a liver transplant one month ago. Another child died so my child could live; i don't know the answer to that one,but our Lord does. You are in my daily fervent prayers. i am praying for a miracle for Ira and for strength and peace for you.
Isaiah 40:29-31

Joe, Laura, Sophia, & Ira, Thanks for the picture. WE love you guys. You have been in our thoughts and prayers every day. I have put you all on our prayer list here in Little Rock and have had so many people wanting to know how you are doing. Every time I saw a baby I said a prayer for Ira. I pray God will give you peace and comfort all of you.

Hays family,
It's so good to have the visual of little Ira. It's hard to see all the tubes and wires... and to process that fact that this is your family's reality right now. Prayers are not ceasing. Any of us would be wrestling with God in the same way in your situation. And because we all love you and Ira, we are in some small way engaged in the struggle as well. Thank you for including us. I believe that as we all continue to earnestly pray and seek God's face, we are catching glimpses of His heart and joining Him in His activity in Ira's life and your whole family's life. Show us your GLORY, Lord. Display your power. Heal Ira and send him home to Brooklyn. Hold Sophia close to your heart through all of this. Let Your Peace Reign.

Psalm 28:8 "The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one. Save your people and bless your inheritance; be their shepherd and carry them forever."

Psalm 40:11 "Do not withhold your mercy from (Ira), O Lord; may your love and your truth always protect (Ira). For troubles without number surround (him)...Be pleased, O Lord, to save (Ira); O Lord, come quickly to help (him)...You are (Ira's) help and (his) deliverer; O my God, do not delay."

We believe that you, Dear God, can heal baby Ira. Please be Ira's Shepherd and Comforter. Please protect Joe, Laura, Sophia, and Ira with your full armor and help them to stand firm in your promises. It's because of Jesus we can pray to you, Amen.

We are continually lifting you up in prayer. Love, J&A
