help a sister out

It's been a while since Laura wrote for this blog. If you're like me, you miss her honest take on life. I've asked her on several occasions if she's interested in putting her pen to work but she's just not feeling it. She tells me she's in a writing funk. She loves to write but the well of creativity is dry. That's where you come in. If you're so inclined, suggest a topic you would like Laura to tackle. Over the next couple of days, Laura will read over the comments and choose which topic she wants to address...that is if she chooses one at all.

I would think she knows a thing or two about surrender and would love to hear her thoughts...

My aunt asked me to write more as well. She asked me, "If I give you a topic a week will you please write about it?" I told her I would try. (don't have much time every week) Well, her first request for me was to write about the day John was born and how I felt- especially since we didn't know John had CDH. I did it just the other day, and I was brutally honest.

I think the fact that you are being encouraged to write is awarding. I would love to see something from you!!! Please do it!

Write about something that is close to your heart. It would be a good way for me to get to know you better.

By the way, Johnny and I are heading back to Florida this week, Kevin is coming over the weekend! If I keep this up - we may move down there. :-)

XOXO

Here are two topics I think are interesting...

*What is up with America's celebrity worship? Who should be a hero...and who is yours?

*How should a Christian spend or save? Is spending money on clothes and nicer cars and luxuries a sin while our brothers and sisters in Christ struggle and scrape just to survive? When I read the Gafner's mission report from Kenya, I know I could spend my money more wisely...by sharing it...

Laura, you should write about what it's like living with a wonderful, incredibly kind husband who attends to your every need while doing so with a graciousness that is not of this world. :) ...or not.

I'd love to hear about your music class. I'd also like you to share your take on early childhood education - daycare vs. preschool - and the new preschool norms/expectations. Or on a more spiritual note, talk about a female in the bible and how she has influenced your spiritual journey.

When my well is dry, I blog about the little things. It does my heart good to make myself see 'em and celebrate 'em. Often, I just start writing with no purpose. Sometimes I end up with something I love, and other times I end up with a blog about... farts. Yah. It happened. And I didn't delete it. LOL! Just write, Laura. Talk about what you see out your window. We just want to hear you. :)

I'd love to hear some thoughts on worship/liturgy. That might be more than you want to tackle but I'm a patient and loyal fan.

i'd just love to hear how you're doing. i guess that's because we haven't had a chance to talk in a long time and you're one of the friends i miss most from college. so, i'd just love to hear how you are on any given day.

Laura could talk about her experiences growing up a few houses down from one of the coolest guys in St. Louis.

Or she could talk more about the music class she teaches. That's pretty interesting...

As a West Texan, I would like to hear about your take on New York City. The people and the feel of the big city.

You could write about why Joe hates Grey's Anatomy so much.

Love, Yael

How about how persuaded you are (or are not) that nothing in life or death can separate us from the love of God that we have in Christ Jesus.

I've got another one: How a mother who is tone deaf does not pass on such horrors to her children...seriously, Larry asked me to match a note one time and thought I was joking when I finally tried to match it =)

I would love to read about what makes Laura laugh. Where are you able to find humor, no matter how bizarre?
