The CPAP Baby

The CPAP Baby

This is Ira on the CPAP. It may not seem like it is less invasive than the ventilator but it is, trust me.

I got to hold Ira yesterday but it was before Laura and Sophia showed up with the camera.

It was a pretty long night for Ira's nurse last night. His secretions are pretty high which means he needs to be suctioned quite a bit. His gas test came back early in the morning and the CO2 intake is a bit high so they are keeping an eye on that.

I have been blessed to have Ira and your family become a part of my life through Jen & Keith Johnson in Portland, OR. Ira's triumphs help keep my co-workers and my self grounded as to the things that really matter in life.

From day one I felt it so strong in my spirit that Ira will more than raise up through all of this to bring people to the Lord through the powerful testimony of his fight for life.

When the calling is so strong, the enemy will seek to destroy even the smallest of warriors knowing that the Lord knew Ira while still in his mother's womb and had already called him to do a great work in God's kingdom.

Any tear that I have shed while thinking and praying for you all, strength for Laura, courage for Joe, understanding for little Sophia, wisdom beyond man's understanding for the medical staff...have been shed not in sorrow, but in humble awe of knowing God's love is so amazing. God bless.

Joe & Laura,

Tears of joy!! Thank the Lord! I am so thrilled for you. To get to hold your son; to hear your son's voice; to hear the doctor express confidence in Ira's healing!!!! We pray for continued successes and milestones to be reached. One Day At A Time, Sweet Jesus! It's hard to wait - when you want something so much. I've often wondered at the phrase "At just the right time .... Jesus died....". God has a plan for everything. We pray for total healing for Ira - and that it will be sooner than the doctors even expect!! God bless you!

Joe, Laura, and Sophia,
We are full of joy today!

Thanks be to God for your power and love, and thank you Lord Jesus for hearing and interpreting our "shallow words" that will continue today and into the night for many days, weeks, and months ahead. Ira, you're the man!!

I don't know you ... but I've been praying for baby Ira for weeks now. He's lookin' good to me! My husband sleeps in a CPAP every night. That's much better than a ventilator, for sure!

Thank you for sharing your journey. Peace of Christ to you -- and blessings on baby Ira Lester. May he continue to live up to his names.
