I see you

I see you
Originally uploaded by joechays.

Ira had a good night on Friday night. So good in fact that Ira's veteran nurse allowed Laura to hold Ira for about 10 minutes. It was heaven. He was alert and didn't mind it. He did mind the move from the bed to Laura's arms but once he settled in it was all good.

Ira's tolerating the absence of the nitric oxide which is good. One of the surgeons passed by and said, "looking pretty good."

Click on the pic above to see more pictures of Ira. And check out his mean abdominal scar in one of the pictures. Yeah, he's from the streets of Brooklyn.

Hey Joe and Laura,

Thanks for your blog and for your faith. I am praying for healing too. That is what the family of God is all about, right?

Blessings from Paris,

It is good to see you two smiling. We continue, as many others, to be in prayer for baby Ira - and continued healing.

It's also good to hear some humor from Joe, a sign of healing as well.

We love you all,
The Youngs

I know the joy of holding your baby boy for the first time. And even if it were for just 10 minutes, I know that you enjoyed every minute. I am so thankful that Ira is doing well. Though we buried Noah today, I had a sense of relief to read of Ira's improved condition. I pray that God WILL heal Ira completely and make him whole on this earth. Keep your faith and continue to live one day at a time. That is all that God asks of you. We know the struggles of trips to the hospital and time spent with Sophia, and we will continue to pray for your strength.

I am convinced that the only way I have struggled through the last 2 weeks is because of love and prayers offered up for us. I have strength, but I do not know where it comes from. I have peace, but it is not because of anything I have done. I pray that you too will received the strength and peace that you need to make it through this.

Hey Son,

That is not a forced smile that I see in these pictures.

Praise the Lord! I prayed last night that you all would be able to hold Ira soon. We are filled with so much joy, and we can see a new joy on your faces. We pray that it stays there. We love you and won't stop praying.

God Bless.

What a beautiful blessing from God! It was so great to see him in your arms Laura. Thank you for letting us have a part in this journey with you through your updates and pictures. It helps us feel closer and more connected as we feel so far away physically. We love you guys so much and we of course keep lifting prayers up to God for healing, protection, and peace. J&A

Wow! Look at those big smiles! So GOOD to see! It is also good to see Laura holding precious Ira. I know you'll be so glad when he gets all those tubes, tape, etc. off his sweet face. Looks like he may be a "pug nose" if they keep that tape over his nose much longer! He looks SO good and alert - bet it felt wonderful to him to be able to "sit up" just a little bit. He has come so far, and done everything anyone could possibly ask. Wouldn't Top & Clyde be proud of him! They may have even been his angels watching over him. God has big plans for Ira - no doubt about that. Keep those smiling pictures coming.
Love to you all,
Weedon

I don't know your family, but learned of Ira while keeping up with sweet Noah Whaley. I wanted to check back in on Ira and saw these beautiful pictures. Finally a smile on my face. Ira is absolutely beautiful and alert. It was good to see smiles on your face, too. All of you will continue in our prayers in Sugar Land, Texas.
