Much to our relief, Ira was extubated this evening. Ira made it known that he was ready to be extubated and didn't care for an MRI, thank you very much. Once he was back on the familiar CPAP he went right to sleep. We're all home tonight hoping to get some rest.

May you all find peace tonight...

Sleep my child and peace attend thee,
All through the night
Guardian angels God will send thee,
All through the night
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and dale in slumber sleeping
I my loved ones' watch am keeping,
All through the night

Angels watching, e'er around thee,
All through the night
Midnight slumber close surround thee,
All through the night
Soft the drowsy hours are creeping,
Hill and dale in slumber sleeping
I my loved ones' watch am keeping,
All through the night

Thanking God with all of you that Ira is recovering from surgery and back on the CPAP. The new pictures are great - he has changed so much and looks like such a big boy! We will continue to pray and eagerly look for updates. Thank you so much for keeping us all in the loop. Looking forward to good reports this week - by faith. Love,
K&J Johnson

Good morning, Laura and Joe. I hope you did rest well last night. I'm getting ready for church this morning and checking in on Ira before I go.

I asked permission from my church leaders to come visit you guys in September. I've only been on the job for a few weeks and have already taken several days for a vacation, so I wasn't sure how they would react to my request.

Like the Spirit of Christ that lives in them, they have reacted with sympathy and generosity. They have flooded my email box with well wishes and prayers for your family and especially for Ira. Yes, this family tree is very big indeed. "All the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches."

peace -- Katie

Katie, I love the tree image and mostly how it relates to your request. How blessed it will be to be in New York and hold Joe, Laura, Sophia and baby Ira in your arms!
Joe and Laura, you are constantly in our thoughts and prayers. love being sent your way, Julie

I keep checking your blog every few hours, hoping to find a favorable report on little Ira. I pray "no news is good news!"
