Christmas in April

Sister helping me out
Originally uploaded by joechays.

Ira was taken by ambulance to the nearest emergency room on December 24. He never got a chance to open his X-mas presents. It never seemed right for us to open them up after he left. So they've sat in the corner of the living room unopened for the past four months.

Today, Ira came home and got to open his Christmas presents. To say that we are elated to have him home is a gross understatement.

Every so often Sophia goes over to Ira and says, "You're home!"

He is indeed and this little family in this large city couldn't be happier!

Yeah!! We pray that he is home to stay!!

Just today in my Bible study, I had a couple of gals asking how "baby Ira" was doing. I told them it was just "paperwork" that was keeping him in the hospital and little did we know that he was probably on his way home while we were talking about him!

I know you won't take for granted all of the "little things" that you get to do with him, now that he is home!

My heart (and tears) are overflowing for you right now. Enjoy your family!!

Hello sweet Ira. May you fell the love and warmth of being home.

I saw this and the Leonard Cohen song "Hallelujah: rang in my ears.

Love and peace to you all.

What good news!!! I am crying as I am typing. I love that Ira just looks like he fits there...sitting with Laura and Sophia on the couch. I love, love, love that Sophia keeps telling him..You're home! Maybe sometimes we need reminding that we're home. Thanks Sophia.
